Louie Reid

Louie began his career in insurance through door knocking for personal insurance, booking appointments for advisors and brokers. He has since moved into the commercial space with Gerrard's, where he focuses on online outreach — calling and emailing business directors to connect them with Gerrard's brokers, with the goal of helping businesses save money on insurance policies and achieve stronger coverage. Alongside his career, Louie is in his third year studying Economics and International Business at the University of Canterbury. He is President of the University Social Golf Society, which has grown to around 300 members, and is involved in Te Mana Pounamu, the UC Māori and Pasifika Commerce Club, where he manages sponsorship. Louie recently travelled to Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia on a month-long university study tour, undertaking market research and business meetings with industry leaders across Southeast Asia. A multi-national title holder in surf lifesaving IRB racing, Louie has won gold at New Zealand Nationals in the Under 19, Under 23, and Open Male grades. Outside of work and study, Louie is an avid golfer playing off a handicap of three or four, a keen skier, and an enthusiastic surfer.
