Ethan Gerrard

Ethan Gerrard began his insurance career in 2019, joining Gallagher's straight out of the University of Otago. After 18 months, he moved into a commercial role at Aon before founding Gerrard's, driven by a belief that New Zealand's small and medium-sized business sector was underserved. With 97% of New Zealand businesses being small businesses, Ethan saw an opportunity to build a brokerage that gives clients access to specialists who truly understand their world, focusing on what they actually need rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Outside of work, Ethan is an avid ultramarathon runner, having completed multiple events including a race in India, and is a regular at car events across the South Island. He is also deeply involved in the Christchurch young business community and re-founded the Young Insurance Professionals in Christchurch in 2020, a network where young professionals collaborate and find better opportunities, with every event now selling out within 24 hours.
