A career built on solving real problems
Reuben began his insurance career in business support services at FMG Insurance, where he developed a strong foundation in insurance systems and processing. He found a genuine passion for correlating client exposures to risk and placing relevant policies that provide the right level of coverage and that passion has carried through to his role at Gerrard's, which he joined at the end of August 2025. At Gerrard's, Reuben manages an ongoing book of clients, handling policy changes and renewals, as well as reaching out to prospective clients to set them up with insurance solutions tailored to their specific risks. Outside of work, Reuben is a dedicated softball player, representing his club in Christchurch, the Canterbury representative team, and the New Zealand Under-23 team. He is heading to Colombia in April 2025 to compete in the Under-23 Softball World Cup — a milestone he has been working toward since he first picked up a bat at the age of four.
